Coach Lovell kept things straightforward after the dual. On the women's team, he emphasized the importance of fighting through every position:
"Our girls learned that even in a loss, you can contribute to an overall win if you score points in a match and don't get pinned."
On the men's side, he highlighted the challenge of their conference:
"The men are in one of the toughest conferences in the country. If we can't field a full team, we don't have a chance."
