Kaylee Leicht Establishes the Half Marathon School Record
The women's cross country team placed third in the NJCAA Half Marathon Championship on October 17, the first half-marathon contest in RedTail program history.
Kaylee Leicht established a school record with her eighth place time of 1:38:10.10. Crossing the line behind Leicht was Hannah Payne with a time of 1:38:52.00 landing her in ninth place. Rachel Wardell finished next with a time of 1:44:30.30 putting her in 12th place. The final two finishers were Elizabeth Barfells (2:00:10.00, 28) and Sophie Spargur (2:00:10.10,29).
"I'm very proud of these ladies and I think they are too, anytime you can hit a bench mark like the half marathon, then that's something you can carry with you for the rest of your life," said head coach Tyler Mulder.
Leicht, Payne, and Wardell each earned Coaches Association honors.
