Women’s Cross Country competes at Indian Hills Invitational
OTTUMWA-The Hawkeye RedTail women's cross country team competed in Ottumwa, Iowa on October 14, 2022 for the Indian Hills Invitational 5K.
Jules Breckinridge made her debut for the RedTails, leading the team with a time of 22 minutes, 19.9 seconds. Maddie Tieskotter was the next RedTail over the finish line at 23:00.4. Triniti Etzel set a personal best at the meet with a time of 23:22.3. Rachel Rusche rounded it out for the RedTails coming in at 24:04.9.
Coach Corinne Gadient is proud of the women's progress saying, "The girls haven't had it easy this season, with bad weather at each meet and lack of girls running. However, that hasn't stopped them from giving all they have in every race and defying the odds stacked against them. By adding two middle distance girls to the crew, it has added confidence and connectedness across the squad. They are always working together and push each other to finish. With regionals coming up, we are adding a few more girls to the squad so don't be surprised if the girls pull up and place at the championship!"
