RedTail Men’s Sports Shooting Team Sets New Records at ISTA State Championships

CEDAR FALLS–The RedTail Men's sports shooting team started off their season at the ISTA Championships on April 24.
Jake Maakestad earned his third 100 straight of the year in Trap-Singles. He ended with 196 birds. "Jake keeps cementing his legacy as the best shooting sports student-athlete ever at Hawkeye RedTails Sports Shooting," said head coach Troy Emley.
Devan Myers broke a school record in sporting clays, with a total of 80 birds. He also shot 195 birds in trap-singles.
"This is the best ICCAC Conference Championship and Iowa SCTP State Championships' team we have ever put on the shooting sports field," said head coach Troy Emley.
Next up for the RedTails is the International Skeet Championship on May 14.
