Over the weekend, the RedTails traveled to Nebraska for a conference matchup against Central Community College. After a hard-fought battle, they came away with a well-deserved 1-0 win, securing all 3 points.
The RedTails controlled much of the first half, dominating possession and keeping Central pinned in their own defensive third. Despite their offensive pressure, the score remained 0-0 at halftime. Confident that a breakthrough was coming, the team came out strong in the second half—even while playing against the wind.
Their persistence paid off when sophomore Eve Harriott delivered a perfectly placed ball to freshman forward Grace Lea, who found herself in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Lea calmly finished the chance, putting the RedTails ahead 1-0.
The defense held strong for the remainder of the match, preserving the clean sheet and sealing a hard-earned victory on the road.
Following a demanding stretch of games and scheduling changes, the RedTails will now enjoy a short break before returning to action. Their next match is set for Saturday, October 11th, when they host North Iowa Area Community College at 1:00 p.m.
